Deepa began her practice of yoga at a young age but has devoted herself to teaching for the past 15 years. Yoga has helped her to grow stronger, more flexible, and fearless both on and off the mat. After experiencing numerous health benefits, she decided to develop her practice in India through the Sivananda School of Yoga with the hope of helping and healing as many people as possible. She is an official member of the Yoga Alliance and continually works to further develop yoga disciplines and meditation techniques that are individually targeted to each student. Her classes are centred around cultivating focus and awareness through conscious breathing and meditation while encouraging strength and flexibility through Hatha Yoga asanas (postures) in a safe space. The practice of meditative exercises and pranayama (controlled breathing) are especially effective in combatting anxiety and stress as well as achieving a calmer and more stable state of mind.
