WELCOME
Welcome to our 12 days to Christmas health challenge! This is the time of year that's filled with, family, fun and food and our health challenge will be based on these three themes!
DAY 2
Its that time of year where we start attending holiday parties. Try to add 1 extra vegetable to each meal today and during the rest of the holiday season.
DAY 4
Today's challenge is to see if you can stop using technology 1 hour before bed! Instead, use that time to unwind and relax. Maybe you can even try to meditate or read a good book!
DAY 6
Today let's focus on a friend! Reach out and do something special for them. It can be as simple as buying them a cup of coffee!
DAY 8
Welcome to day 8 of our Christmas challenge! Today's call-to-action is to make at least one of your meals a full vegetarian meal! This does not mean you can have poutine for lunch! Try to make the meal as healthy and clean as possible
DAY 10
Today's challenge is to try and make healthier meal choices! Whether it be taking smaller portions, skipping the fried appetizers, limiting the amount of dessert you have, it doesn't matter! You choose!
DAY 12
Our Mindful Medicine team wants to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Have new years resolutions? Write them down, use a S.M.A.R.T Goal template that can be found on our website under "news & events" --> #30mindfuldays. Let's make 2019 your most well-balanced year yet! .
DAY 1
Welcome to day 1 of our #12daystochristmas challenge! Today's challenge is to take 5 minutes of your day today for self-care. Could this be listening to music? Going for a walk? Closing your eyes and meditating? You chose! Daily self-care will help you get through this busy season.
DAY 3
Today we want you to focus on family! Many studies show that gratitude is beneficial for positive psychology! Pick one member of your family and write down three things you're grateful for!
DAY 5
At this time of the year with holiday parties, alcohol is frequently consumed. We want you to focus on the amount of water you drink today! Take note of how much you're drinking and be mindful to see if you're drinking enough water!
DAY 7
We are more than half way through our Christmas challenge! With the busy holiday season we often forget to incorporate physical activity into our schedule. Today's task is to do atleast 10 minutes of physical activity! It doesn't have to be strenuous, just as long as you're up and active!
DAY 9
With our busy day-to-day lives we often lose touch with our friends and family. Today your challenge is to reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in a while! It could be over a phone call, over social media or even a text message!
DAY 11
What makes you happy? I know something as simple as lighting up a candle, or sitting by the fireplace definitely puts a smile on my face! Make a list of things that make you happy and try to incorporate into your day.
