Dr. Sangeeta Oza

Healing Is Her Expertise

Dr. Oza founded Mindful Medicine in April 2017 to help patients manage their own health and reduce reliance on prescribed medications when possible.

​

After practicing as a family physician for over 30 years in the UK and Canada, Dr. Oza realized that traditional medicine, applied conventionally, did not always alleviate or control chronic illness. Doctors are generally trained to treat patients’ symptoms by prescribing medications to manage disease.  However, many patients continue to suffer without a substantial change in the underlying or root causes of their illness. She knew she had to make a change, and focus on how to promote health and well-being. 

Bridging The Gap

She pursued training in Lifestyle Medicine, evidence based medical care and a long-term solution leading to good health and disease prevention, through Harvard Medical School.  As a traditionally trained medical practitioner and a certified Lifestyle Medicine physician, Dr. Oza found that she had a unique ability to bridge the gap between traditional and alternative medicine. She uses this capacity to the benefit of her patients in order to empower them with the education, tools and support they need to make lasting improvements to their health.

Dr. Oza is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) and certified by the College of Family Physicians (Canada). She has completed her American Board of Lifestyle Medicine Certification and is also a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. She is passionate about improving quality of life through healthy eating and believes in following a whole food plant-based diet.
